GAD Webinar

The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) implements the National GAD Resource Program (NGRP) to ensure the strategic, timely, and relevant provision of technical assistance on gender and development (GAD) for national government agencies (NGAs), state colleges and universities (SUCs), government-owned-and-controlled corporations (GOCCs) and other government instrumentalities. One of the components of the NGRP is the GAD technical assistance platform which consists of direct TA (Individual) sectoral and public offerings; and GAD web-based seminars.

GAD webinars address the need to deliver GAD technical assistance to various government stakeholders, by capitalizing on the strength of information technology and alternative modes of learning such as mobile, electronic, and digital learning. Since its implementation in 2020, the GAD webinars have offered an accessible, innovative, and informative platform to increase awareness and knowledge among policymakers, public officers, gender trainers, and the general public on gender mainstreaming which enables training participants to learn at any location and to complete the learning modules at their own pace.

The learning modules of the 2024 GAD Webinars aim to raise the awareness of participants from various government agencies and institutions on gender sensitivity and equip them with knowledge and skills on gender analysis, gender mainstreaming, and gender-responsive development planning to fulfill their roles and responsibilities under the Magna Carta of Women (MCW) and other policy issuances and mandates on GAD. The GAD webinars are also continuously being improved based on the monitoring and assessment results as well as lessons of prior GAD webinars.

From 2020 to 2023, the PCW successfully trained and reached a total of 16,925 participants through the GAD Webinars, with 13,228 (78%) being females and 3,679 (22%) males. The breakdown is as follows:
